Free Google Business Profile Checker

Check your Google Business Profile score in about five seconds. Instant A-to-F grade for any local business, benchmarked against 4,604 real Google listings. No signup, no login.

This free checker grades any local business's Google listing A through F using six public signals: review count, star rating, website, photos, listed hours, and business status. Every grade is benchmarked against SitePeek's 2026 study of 4,604 local business listings — for context, the median local business has 45 reviews, the average rating is 4.6 stars, and 43.7% have no website on their listing at all.

How does the profile grade work?

The checker reads six things anyone can see on a Google listing and scores them out of 100 points, weighted by how strongly each one separates winning profiles from invisible ones in our data. All benchmarks come from SitePeek's 2026 study of 4,604 local business Google listings across 325 US cities — not industry folklore.

FactorWeightBenchmark from the 4,604-listing dataset
Review count30 ptsMedian is 45 reviews; fewer than 10 is the bottom 21% of the market
Star rating20 ptsMarket mean is 4.6 stars; only 8% of rated businesses sit below 4.0

90+ is an A, 75+ a B, 60+ a C, 40+ a D, below that an F.

Review count — 30 points

Reviews weigh heaviest because they are the clearest public activity signal Google has. Across the 4,604 businesses we analyzed, the median local business has 45 reviews. Fewer than 10 puts a listing in the bottom 21% of the market, only 3.8% have none at all, and crossing 100 puts you in the top 30%.

Star rating — 20 points

The market mean is 4.6 stars, and only 8% of rated businesses sit below 4.0 — which is why a sub-4.0 rating is graded hard here. Between 4.0 and 4.5 is survivable; at or above 4.6 you match the market.

Website on the listing — 20 points

43.7% of the 4,604 businesses we analyzed have no website on their Google listing. Simply having one beats nearly half the market, which makes this the single cheapest point-gain on the scorecard.

Photos — 15 points

Google's public API returns at most 10 photos per listing, so we grade what is visible from the outside: 5 or more reads as an active listing, fewer than 3 reads as an abandoned one. Customers judge the same way.

Business hours — 10 points

A yes/no check. Listings with no hours can be skipped entirely when someone searches "open now" — and "open now" is one of the most common ways people pick a local business.

Business status — 5 points

Whether Google lists the business as operational. A listing marked temporarily closed is suppressed in results until it is fixed — it happens more often than owners realize, usually after a Google data sweep.

An A or B means your public profile basics beat most of the market: the median local business has 45 reviews, the average rating is 4.6 stars, and 43.7 percent of businesses have no website on their listing at all. A C or below usually means a missing website, thin reviews, or missing hours — all fixable, and all covered in the free full audit.
